“Tum Prerana ho Prabhavna nahi”, you are an inspiration not an influencer.

Here is the perfect example of how words can change your perception about your purpose.

This was said to me when I was trying to influence to impact and these words changed me into a conscious person for our planet.

I always had an inclination towards nature but never really cared for how our small yet impactful acts can bring the change to make world a better place.

Sharing some acts of love that I have adopted and invested since last 5 years for our Mother Earth in my day-to- day life, that aren’t hard, just needs mindset, consistency and patience.

Here I go:-

To live a conscious and sustainable lifestyle in the true terms,I had to tread on the path of minimalism or else I would have been still a prey to the bug named over-consumption, maximalist so first thing I did to curb it is to plan one year no shopping challenge. And it successfully lasted 1 1/2 yrs, last year I successfully completed one month one purchase strategy. Mostly it was no shopping months too. Now I have become so conscious about my shoppings that I hardly need a challenge to walk on this path.

I do not shy away from repeating my outfits on and off social media even with the same set of people.

I switched to the most sustainable period product ‘menstrual cup’ (it lead me to a zero waste period since past 4years and I’m lovin it)

I carry my water bottle, steel dabba and cutlery everywhere I go.(not just me it has become a family thing now)

I carry reusable cloth bags for almost all my shopping (greens, groceries, clothes and household stuffs)

I use outdated wedding card invites and handmade paper for all my crafts, kid’s school projects or making handmade cards for loved ones & for celebration decors and have stopped using disposables, plastic straws, balloons and many such things during gatherings or parties to avoid waste.

I use hankies, cloth napkins and towels instead of paper napkin.

I started using all my empty jars in the kitchen (like coffee, jam, gift, etc..) which earlier was passed away because I liked it all symmetrical.

I don’t DIY plastic as they end up leaving micro plastics in the environment.

I compost almost all my food leftovers in pit or old pots.

I segregate dry and wet waste.

I had requested my milk vendor to supply milk in my steel container(which otherwise is distributed in plastic bags) which he happily agreed. And I’m able to save 1000+ polythenes every year.

Here requesting you all to “Start small, but Start with an intention” to become more empathetic towards self, our planet, its resources and its people.

Regards, Prerana
